Catholics, Protestants get Christmas greetings

The southern province of Dong Nai held a meeting with local Catholic and Protestant dignitaries and priests on December 18.
At the meeting, provincial leaders spoke highly of the religious community’s contributions to the province’s development, saying that the religious people always uphold the spirit of patriotism and solidarity and actively participate in charitable and social activities.
On the occasion of Christmas celebrations, local officials visited and presented gifts to Catholic priests and religious families in Thong Nhat district and Bien Hoa city.
Dong Nai province is home to 1.5 million religious followers, accounting for 60 percent of the province’s population.
The same day, the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilisation Commission’s Chairman Ha Thi Khiet presented gifts to four poor Catholics households in southern Tay Ninh province.
She also visited Monsignor Thuong Tam Thanh, Head of the Executive Council of the Cao Dai Church in the province.Source: VOVNews/VNA
